Privacy Policy

EnergyReckon is a free reference site. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no email gates. This policy describes the little data that does move when you use the site, and the choices you have about it.

The calculator runs in your browser

The appliances you select and the wattage totals computed from them exist only in your browser session. They are not transmitted to us, stored on a server, or shared with anyone. Closing the tab discards them.

Advertising

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including, where applicable, advertising identifiers) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve personalized ads; you can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Third-party vendors' cookie choices are also aggregated at www.aboutads.info. Visitors in the EEA/UK will see a consent prompt before any advertising cookies are set.

This site does not currently use affiliate links. See the Disclosure page for the current status — it will be updated first if that changes.

Analytics and logs

We use aggregated, non-identifying analytics (page views, referring pages, rough geography) to see which content is useful and to fix broken pages. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, user agent, pages requested — for security and abuse prevention, retained briefly and not used to profile visitors.

Cookies: your controls

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculator and all content work fine with cookies disabled. Ad personalization opt-outs are linked above.

Children

This site is general-audience reference material and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If our data practices change — a new ad network, new analytics — this page and its effective date will be updated before the change takes effect.
