Figures are the manufacturer's published specs; dashes mean the maker doesn't publish a number. Verify against the current datasheet before you buy.

What can it actually run?

Checked with the same math as our calculator: total running watts, plus the single largest motor surge on top. “Tight” means it technically fits but the load sits above 80% of rated output — fine briefly, not where you want to live.

The installer's take

The '3500' in the name is the surge figure; 2,300W running is the number that actually matters for sizing, and it puts this closer to the small-inverter class above than the 3,000W-running Predator below despite the similar-sounding name. That's not a knock on the hardware — 57.8 lb, 58 dBA, CO Shield, and parallel capability are all solid for the class — just a reminder to size off running watts, not the number on the box. Champion has since discontinued this specific model, so parts availability will thin out over time; buy it for what it does today; don't count on decades of support.

Pros

  • 57.8 lb — genuinely light for 2,300W running
  • 58 dBA and CO Shield shutoff standard
  • Parallel-capable if you outgrow one unit

Cons

  • Named after its 3,500W surge, not its 2,300W running rating — read past the headline number
  • Discontinued by Champion, so long-term parts support is a question mark
Best for: Campers and light backup buyers who've already checked the running-watts number, not just the name.
